Our Daily Routines

Routines give children a sense of security and stability. Routines help children  feel safe and secure in their environment. Young children gain an understanding of everyday events and procedures and learn what is expected of them as routines make their environment more predictable.

Daily Routines at Turncroft Nursery School                                 *Updated October 2019*

Morning sessions

8:45am Welcome children

9:05am Ring the bell and gather on the carpet for ‘Together Time’

9:05-9:25am ‘Together Time’ led by Miss Murphy (EYFS Teacher)

(Focus: Phonics/Mathematics/Singing/Wake & Shake)

9:25am Outdoor Play

10:00-10:15/20 am Snack time

10:20 – 11:15am Key Person group time – short term planning activities

11:15 – 11:20am Tidy-up!

11:20am Key Person -Stories/Singing/Rhymes/Helicopter Stories

11:30am Children move to their collection points with Key Person

11:35am Children staying for lunch are supervised in the physical room.

11:35am Doors are opened to welcome parents and carers

 

Afternoon sessions

12:45pm Welcome children

1:05pm Ring the bell and gather on the carpet for ‘Together Time’

1:05-1:25pm ‘Together Time’ led by Miss Murphy (EYFS Teacher)

1:25pm Outdoor Play

2:00-2:15/20 pm Snack time
